DESCRIPTION







The past simple refers to time verbal that use for express actions which took place in the past, and It haven't relationship with the present.

in past ...in present ...






The past simple has two kinds of verbs:






Regular Verbs: This verbs has anything norms in the past simple:






Add a suffix (ed) : play - played


If the verb end into (e) is added (d) : love - loved


If the verb end in consonant (y) instead add (ied) : study - studied


If the verb is monosillabic and end in consonant - vocal - consonant, it doubles the last letter : stop - stopped


Irregular Verbs: This verbs does not have norms in the past simple because this are verb change his form totaly


Example: vender / sell / solt


GRAMMAR


+  Subject + verb in past + complement : I played in the park






Subject + didn't (did not) + verb + complement : I did not play in the park






?  Did + Subject + verb + ? : Did you play in the park?

The continous past refer to actions interrumpted in the past and add (ing)






The continous past has two verbs to be:






WAS : Is the verb to be in past used into third person, with exception ( I ) example:






SUBJECT TO BE TO BE in PAST



 









WERE: Is the verb to be in past used into first person, example:















GRAMMAR


+   Subject + auxiliar verb + verb (ing) + complement   :         I was playing in the park ...






-   Subject + auxiliar verb + not + verb (ing) + complement : I was not playing in the park ...






?   Auxiliar verb + Subject + verb (ing) + complement + ? : Were you playing in the park?
